- All entries will be checked at their pens. Exhibitors should be by their pens with proper and completed papers.
2017 Junior Dairy Show

Dairy Showmanship & Show –
Monday, July 24, 9:00 a.m.
- The showmanship contest for all dairy exhibitors will be held Monday at 9:00 a.m. with the show immediately following.
- You can show up to 6 animals in the show. Only one entry per class.
- Dairy animals must be in possession of the exhibitor by May 1 and cared for until release time at the fair.
- Junior Champions of all the breeds will show for Supreme Junior Champion after the last breed Junior Champion show.
- Senior Champions of all the breeds will show for Supreme Senior Champion after the last breed Senior Champion Show.

Junior Fair Sale – Dairy Products –
Thursday, July 27 –
Multipurpose Building
- Sale of Champions – 9:30 a.m.
(a) Supreme Senior Champion Dairy Cow will represent the species in the Sale of Champions. The Supreme Junior Champion will represent the species in the event a Supreme Senior Champion is not shown.
(b) Exhibitor of the Supreme Senior Champion Dairy cow will receive 15% of the proceeds from the Dairy Product Sale. If the Supreme Junior Champion represents the species, then the exhibitor of the Junior Champion will receive the 15% proceeds from the Dairy Product Sale.
(c) The remaining money will be divided equally between all dairy exhibitors (including the Supreme Senior/or Junior Champion Dairy Cow) who do not otherwise participate in the sale.
(d) The Knox County Dairy Service Unit will determine the actual product/products that will be sold.
(e) Participants in the Dairy Product Sale must be present during the sale and have their picture taken with the buyer(s) to receive their sale proceeds.

Dairy Market Feeder Weigh-In – Saturday, July 22, 4:00 p.m.
- Weight limits: 400-600 pounds.
- The animals will be weighed on a one-pound break.
- All weights are final at the time of weigh-in. No re-weigh of animals will be permitted.
Dairy Market Feeder Showmanship & Show –
Tuesday, July 25, 1:00 p.m.
- The showmanship contest for all dairy market feeder exhibitors will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. with the show immediately following.
- Must be 100% dairy breed. The recognized dairy breeds are Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Holstein, Jersey and Milking Shorthorn.
- Verification of parentage must be available if requested by the Junior Fair Coordinator or Senior Fair Board.
- Calves must be dehorned and castrated (no viable testicular tissue) by the May tagging.
- All dairy market feeders will be vaccinated at the May tagging.
- You can tag up to 2 Dairy Market Feeders. You can only show 1 Dairy Market Feeder.
- Dairy Market Feeders must be in possession by the tagging date in May and cared for until release time at the fair.

Bred, Born and Raised on the Farm (BBR)
- The exhibitor or immediate family member (mom, dad, brother, sister) must have ownership of the cow prior to birth of the calf.
- There will be one class to recognize Bred, Born and Raised Dairy Market Feeders.
- Rules of junior fair tagging and possession apply to this class.
- Entries will be available during junior fair entries in June.
- Awards to be determined by the Knox County Dairy Service Unit.
