Entry fee is $3.00 per class plus a $25.00 Season Ticket, and a $1.00 Membership Ticket.

Entry fee must accompany entries.

NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

All sheep must Meet State Health Requirements and will be checked at the gate.

Sheep accepted from 9:00 A.M. Saturday, July 23, 2016 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 24, 2016, Late arrivals will be accepted if held by another Fair and get permission. The Fair Management reserves the right to dismiss any sheep that shows any sign of contagious or infectious disease. Directors and Judges will have the right to reject sheep from showing which do not meet standards of their breed, or are not in a presentable manner for showing. All sheep are required to display scrape tags. There will be No Premium paid to Champion Ram or Ewe in Classes where there is No competition.

All pens must be cleaned out in order to receive premium from a fair board director. Unclean pens will result in forfeiture of premiums until your pens are clean and checked by director. This rule will be strictly enforced.

Two or less animals in a breed class will result in that class going on probation the following year. If numbers do not increase during the probation year the breed class will be dropped.

LAMB TASTING TO FOLLOW THE JUDGING

Competitors can pick up an entry form from the OSU Extension office, knox.osu.edu or by calling 740-393-3137 and have it returned by July 13, 2016.

 

Guide Lines for Lamb Cook-Off:

1. Prepare lamb at home and bring to Fairgrounds with a way to heat it or if you wish you could use your own outdoor grill at the fairgrounds to prepare your lamb.

2. All contestants must provide their own lamb cuts, heating equipment, grill, utensils, and serving materials.

3. Entrants may use any cuts of lamb in their recipes. The recipe must include at least 1 pound of lamb.

4. Include your recipe on your entry form so they can be duplicated for the people watching.

5. Judging will begin following the Sheep Lead in front of the swine arena.

6. All entrants will receive a gift, and the top two in each category will receive a prize.

7. Categories: Adult, Youth ages 9-18.
