Rules and Regulations General
- Exhibit Rules – For the Specimen and/or Artistic Arrangements exhibitors must be enrolled in the project How Does Your Garden Grow #671.
- The exhibitor must grow their own flowers. For arrangements, other materials may be used but must be less than 50% of the arrangement.
- All entries must be in place by 1:30 p.m. on the day of the show.
- Exhibitors must bring their project book with receipts for purchased plants.
- Trophies will be presented to Best of Show and Reserve Best of Show in each section.
- Exhibitors are responsible for picking up all plants and vases by release time.
- Disposable containers should be labeled as such and will be discarded.
Specimens
- Displayed in 4-H building and can be picked up after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25.
- Exhibitors must be present for judging.
- Specimen classes will be divided according to the number of entries.
- Exhibitor must grow specimen flowers of current fair year.
- A “specimen” is a cut annual flower or herb (no roots) showing the main stem with foliage intact.
- Specimens must be displayed in a vase, glass, or bottle containing water.
- Bulbs, iris, lilies, roses, gladioli or herbs grown from previous years are not eligible to show.
- No plants in pots.
- All exhibitors must have their books judged at miscellaneous judging on Wednesday, June 28, at the Mount Vernon High School. Failure to have your books judged will keep you from exhibiting at the fair.

Artistic Arrangements
- Displayed in 4-H building and can be picked up after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25.
- Exhibitors must be present for judging.
- Entries may include any variety of cut flowers grown by the exhibitors.
- Additional materials may be added up to 50% of the arrangement.
- Arrangements to be made by the exhibitor.
- All exhibitors must have their books judged at miscellaneous judging on Wednesday, June 28, at the Mount Vernon High School. Failure to have your books judged will keep you from exhibiting at the fair.
