2016 Field Ready Tractor Pull Classes & Rules Field Ready Class Rules

  • Any tractor being operated by someone between the ages of 14-18 must be equipped with a seat belt as well as ROPS.
  • The driver must also have parent or legal guardians signed consent
  • NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 14 AS OF PULLDAY WILL BE ALLOWED TO PULL
  • No pulling hitches allowed
  • Must use a Clevis that is no smaller than 3 3/4" by 4"
  • Puller must provide his/her own clevis
  • Drawbars will be limited to a 20 inch height maximum.
  • Drawbar length will be based on the standard for farm tractors
  • 540 RPM PTO measures 12 inches from the end of the PTO shaft to the center of the drawbar hole.
  • 1000 RPM PTO measures 14 inches from the end of the PTO shaft to the center of the drawbar hole.
  • All weights must be hanging in factory locations
  • All tractors will be subject to tech inspection before the pull

All decisions made by the Directors will be final.
The other three Field Ready classes will pull on the Open track.
Pulling order will be set on pull day for those classes.

 Gas/Alchohol/Diesel Trucks - Run what You Brung (8,000 lbs) All General Rules Apply Plus:

1. Truck must remain stock appearing with hood and grill in place as intended by the manufacturer. Sheet metal to be stock length and in stock location.
2. Front weight permitted. All weight must be securely fastened. No loose weight allowed on truck.
3. Must have stationary hitch with a 3" x 4" hole. 29" hitch height for naturally aspirated, 27" hitch height for blower, 26" hitch height for diesels and two wheel drive. No clevis.
4. No propane or nitrous oxide permitted>
5. Helmets and fire suits are required.
6. Must carry working fire extinguisher.
7. Must have deadman throttle.
8. Must have kill switch.
9. All vehicles must have driveshaft loops, including safety straps around the front and rear yokes, blowproof bell housing or blowproof blanket around automatic transmission.
10. Will allow second start if first pull is less than 75 feet.
11. Seat belt required.

 6500 Hot Street Stock Gas 4x4

Truck and Chassis

1. OEM 1 ton or less chassis required. No tube frames allowed. Must have working wheel brakes.
2. Working rear OEM type steel leaf springs with shackle required. No trailer springs.
3. Suspension blocks permitted, must be easily removable
4. Traction bars permitted
5. Frame bracing permitted, Rear frame braces may not attach directly to the rear end in anyway.
6. Hanging weight is allowed. Must not exceed 195" from the center of the rear axle.
7. Fuel tank may be mounted in bed or on weight bar
8. Must have complete factory bed floor and inner bed structure. Tailgate not required
9. Must have complete factory sheet metal, dash and windows. Fiberglass hoods are allowed. No fiberglass beds, front clips or doors.
10. Reese style or T hitches allowed. Pivot point to be no higher than the top of the frame rail. No part of the hitch can be any farther forward than 20" behind the centerline of the rear axle. Flat clevis may be used but must be welded solid. 3" x 3 3/4" hold required.
11. Hook point to be no less than 42" from centerline of rear axle. 24" hitch height

Driveline

1. 1 ton or less driveline required
2. Cut 3rd gears also referred to trick 3rd gears are allowed. No Profab 3 speed kits or equivalent. Aftermarket transfer cases allowed, no drop boxes or reversers.
3. Must have SFI approved bellhousing and flywheel. Automatic trucks must have an SFI approved flex plate and transmission blanket.
4. Must have U joint shields covering all U joints. The only exception to this would be the front driveshaft on transfer case output yoke if it is shielded by the cross member. Shields must be 6" long, 1/4 thick if made of steel, 3/8" thick if made of aluminum.
5. 33" DOT approved tires max. 13.50 max tire width. No cutting, grinding siping or alterations. No duals

Engine, Ignition and Fuel

1. 514 cubic inch limit will be enforced
2. Conventional cast iron heads and blocks only. Cast intake manifolds only, no sheet metal or tunnel rams.
3. Engine must match make of truck body. Rear of engine block may be no farther forward than 15" from center of front axle.
4. Single 4150 flange carb with venturis only. No big 2 barrel carbs. no Dominators, SV1, Predator or other single butterfly type carburetors. No fuel injection unless factory equipped for your year of truck, and must be OEM, no aftermarket fuel injection
5. Racing gas only. No alcohol or nitromethane. No pressurized fuels.
6. No forced inductions. This means no turbo's, superchargers, blowers, Nitrous Oxide, or methanol/water injection
7. No dry sumps or external oil pumps
8. Fenderwell headers permitted. Mufflers NOT required but are permittable.

Safety

1. Must have working kill switch.
2. Must have working back up or neutral light
3. Must have fire extinguisher mounted in cab of truck
4. Helmet and fire jacket recommended

8000 Work Stock/2.5 Turbo

This diesel class is designed for pickup tricks with a wide variety of performance upgrades. The truck must be 4 wheel drive.
Weight: 8000 lb Maximum, with driver

Regulations:

Ballast:
Hanging front weights are permitted. If used, ballast must be securely fastened. Weight or weight bracket must not extend more than 60 inches from the center line of the axle.

Batteries:
The batteries must be securely mounted. They may not be located in the driver compartment or forward of the radiator core support.

Body:
The body must be the OEM truck body including t he full bed floor. The body must retain full sheet metal. The complete OEM firewall and complete OEM floor pan is mandatory. A factory installed pickup bed or commercial style aftermarket bed must be installed.

Brakes:
Front wheel hydraulic functional brakes are mandatory.

Chassis:
The OEM chassis is mandatory. The engine must be in the OEM location. The vehicle must retain the full OEM chassis. Wheel tubs, back half conversions, tube chassis, etc, are prohibited.

Cooling System:
Radiators must be in stock location and be of at least stock size

Credentials:
All drivers must have a valid state drivers license.

Driveline:
An OEM transmission and transfer case are mandatory. They must have been an option on a one ton or smaller pickup.

Driver Restraint System:
The OEM restraint system or SFI 5 point harness is mandatory and must be worn

Driveshaft Loops:
Driveshaft lopps are recommended.

Engine:
The engine is limited to a stock appearing, OEM compression engine, available from the factory in a one ton or smaller truck. Cubic inch limit of 444CL. Block must circulate coolant freely. No hard filled blocks. Water pumps may be factory or electric powered. All factory belt driven accessories, excluding the air conditioning compressor, must be retained and powered via the crankshaft by a standard serpentine "V" belt. Electric cooling fans are permitted. No individual runner intake manifolds. (Example: ZZ-customs). Belt driven alternator. No deck plates. Example: NO HAMILTON HEADS FOR THE CUMMINS AND NO BRODIX HEADS FOR THE DURAMAX.

Exhaust:
All vehicles must be equipped to direct exhaust upward. The exhaust must exit rearward of the driver's compartment. Stacks exiting through the fender well and hood are prohibited.

Fire Extinguisher System:
A fire extinguisher system is permitted, it must be securely  mounted. A fire extinguisher is recommended.

Fuel:
The fuel must be pump #1, #2 diesel or Soy/Biodiesel. Fuel must be commercially available. A fuel cell may be used in place of the factory fuel tank, but must be mounted in factory l ocation or securely mounted in bed.

Fuel injection Pump:
The fuel injection pump is limited to cylinder number specific (ie 6 cylinder pump on a 6 cylinder motor) The use of multiple high pressure common rail fuel pumps or HPOPS are permitted. P pumps that are allowed are the p 3000 and the p7100. Ag governors are allowed. No Sigma or 12 cylinder pumps allowed.

Harmonic Balancer
All engines turning more than 4500 RPM must be equipped with a harmonic balancer or dampener meeting SFI Spec 18.1

Hitch:
The hitch must be a REECE receiver - style. Reinforcements are permitted. Reinforcements must not extend forward of the center line of the rear axle and must remain inside the frame rails. The hooking point must be the rear most point on the vehicle and must be rearward of the stock location of the tailgate. The hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary in all directions. Bumper may be notched or removed. The hitch's height from the ground may not exceed 26 inches. The hooking point must have a minimum of 3 inch by 3 3/4 inch inside opening for the sled hook. The hooking point must be a minimum of 44 inches from the center of the rear axle, to the end of the hole where the hook touches metal to be pulled from, this is the hooking point.

Intercoolers:
Factory style or aftermarket air to air replacement only in stock location. **Water to air coolers are prohibited.** Any means of cooling the air before the engine, except the air to air cooler is prohibited **NO USE OF ICE WATER**

Nitrous Oxide/Propane:
Nitrous oxide is prohibited. No other oxygen extenders are allowed. Propane is prohibited. All system components must be removed from the truck. No pressurized bottles.

Rear End:
Non OEM rear-end housings are prohibited. The rear end housings must have been for a one on or smaller pickup pick up. Rear axle bolts must be covered with a cap or shield.

Steering:
The vehicle must retain the full, original OEM, factory steering gear. The vehicle must retain the original OEM power assistance, if it was so equipped. Additional stablizers are permitted. Non OEM power assist methods are prohibited.

Street Equipment:
Complete headlight and taillights assemblies are mandatory and must be operative, except the right front headlight may be removed for air inlet to engine. Complete OEM windshield and all other windows are mandatory. Driver window must be able to operate per factory specifications. They must open and close via electrical or mechanical means.

Suspension - Front:
The factory suspension configuration must be retained. Modifications to the front suspension that would alter the original location (ie moving it forward or backward) is not permitted. Strut tower braces, lower tie bars, sway bars, and limit straps are permitted. Traction bars and devices are permitted.

Suspension - Rear:
An OEM style suspension is mandatory. Traction bars and devices are permitted, they must be bolt on only, welds are permitted for attachment to the frame or axle housing. Traction bars if installed must have a chain or cable or some type of safety device mounted on (1) foot from the front support to catch the bar in case of failure. Control arms may be strengthened or replaced, providing all original mounting points are retained and used. Sway bars, lower tie bars, limit straps, and camber kits are permitted. The rear suspension can be solid with a removable block. Air bag spring assist and air shocks are prohibited.

Tires:
The tires must be DOT street tires. Cut tires are prohibited. The vehicle must retain the original factory wheelbase and track width. 35 inch max x 12.50. No chains or studs

Transfer Case:
Non OEM transfer cases are prohibited. It must have been an option on a one ton or smaller pick up truck

Transmission -Automatic:
Non OEM transmissions are prohibited. The transmission must have been an option for a one ton or smaller truck. Aftermarket torque converters, valve bodies and internal components are permitted. Transmission brarkes are prohibited. Any non OEM floor mounted automatic shifter must be equipped with a spring-loaded positive reverse lockout device to prevent the shifter from accidentally being put into reverse. A functional neutral safety switch is recommended. All transmission lines must be metallic or high pressure type hose. All automatic transmissions must be equipped with a transmission shield meeting SFI Spec 4.1 and must be labeled accordingly. A blanket type shield is recommended. All vehicles using an automatic transmission must be equipped with a flex plate meeting SFI Spec 29.1

Transmission -Manual:
Non OEM transmissions are prohibited. The transmission must have been an option on a one ton or smaller truck. Aftermarket internal components are prohibited. A clutch meeting minimum SFI Spec 1.1 or 2.1 is mandatory on all engines. All manual transmissions must be clutch assisted. Sequential shifters are prohibited. All transmissions must have a flywheel shield labeled as meeting minimum SFI Spec 6.3 or greater. Applications for which an SFI Spec flywheel shield is not available may use a properly attached SFI 4.1 or 4.2 blanket that completely covers the bell housing. It must be attached to the rear of the engine block and extend rearward to the transmission with a minimum of six (6) inch overlap where it is fastened. All transmissions or clutch pedals will have a safety interlock switch so that the vehicle will not start in gear.

Turbocharger:
S-4, GT 42, HX 50 and turbo of this type is the largest turbo allowed. T-4 mounting flange is the largest allowed. Billit compressor wheels are allowed. A single .200 inch MWE groove maximum allowed. No stepped or clipped wheels. No step down covers. No forward facing MWE groove. Air must change direction to enter the MWE groove. This will be checked by putting a 1/16" diameter pin against the back side of the inducer bore parallel with the turbo shaft. The pin must NOT protrude into the MWE groove. No tapered or egg shaped inducer bore allowed. The wheel must protrude minimum of 1/8" into the 2.5" part of the inducer bore. Covers will be plugged from the back side to verify where the wheel protrudes is a maximum of 2.5". Turbo checked with a 2.550" plug. Charger is limited to 5 1/2" boot flange. All air must enter turbo within the 5 1/2" opening. MWE groove will be checked.

6.4 Powerstrokes will be permitted to run modified turbos, as long as the atmosphere turbo does not exceed the OEM straight bore dimension. (2.59") No tapered or egg shaped inducer bores allowed.

Water injection:
Water injection is prohibited. All system components must be removed from truck.

Wheelbase:
The vehicle must retain the original factory wheel base and track width. Cab and chassis trucks may not exceed 172 inch center to center of axles. Front dual-wheel spacers may be used only with accompanying positive-offset dually style wheels.

6500 4WD Pro Street Truck

Engines & Drivetrain

1. Cast iron blocks only, aluminum intakes, any cast iron or conventional type aluminum cylinder heads permitted.No pro stock type cylinder heads, sheet metal, or tunnel ram intakes permitted. No dry sump oiling systems. NO HEMI style spark plugs.
2. A 585cu. In. Limit will be enforced
3. Dominator carbs permitted. No turbos, superchargers, injection, efi, split or dual carbs.
4. Open headers permitted must exit down and back.
5. Engine must be the same make as body and the back side of the block must be at least 15" behind the center of front axle.
6. Transmission, front and rear end must be OEM, 1 ton or less ***AFTERMARKET DROP BOXES ARE ALLOWED***
7. Heavy duty aftermarket drivetrain parts can be used in OEM housings.

Chassis

1. Factory frames only no tube chassis.
2. Traction bars are permitted.
3. Solid or block suspension permitted front and rear.
4. Crew cab and extended cab trucks are permitted.

Weights

1. Front weight and brackets may not extend more than 195 inches forward from the center of rear axle.
2. This measurement is used to compensate for allowing longer wheelbase trucks to compete.

Hitch

1. Hitch must be a minimum of 36" from the center of the rear axle and a maximum of 24"
2. Hitch can be adjustable, but it must be stationary in all directions when pulling. Draw bar can't extend forward past the center point of rear end.

Truck

1. Cab must have factory sheet metal and windows. Fiberglass hoods and hood scoops permitted. Driver side window must be operational.
2. Firewall modifications permitted, must use at least 20ga steel. Factory cab floor required. Center humps can be altered for ease of transmission removal (all modifications to cab must be sealed off completely  no big holes or gaps)
3. Must have good solid bed floors or tonneau covers
4. No flat bes are permitted
5. Batteries and fuel tanks are permitted out front as long as they are securely mounted. Batteries must be concealed.

Tires

1. Any street legal DOT approved tire>
2. Maximum tire xize is 36" tall x 16" wide
3. No cut or sharpened tires allowed.
4. No duals (front or rear)

Safety

1. No nitrous or any pressurized fuels.
2. Pump gas or racing gas only, no alcohol or nitro permitted.
3. Drive shaft loops, u-joint shields, blowproof bellhousing or transmission blanket, kill switches and back up or neutral lights are required.
4. Driver must wear helmet and fire jacket.
5. Must have fire extinguisher in cab.

***MUST HAVE WORKING BRAKES ON THE FRONT AXLE***

D. Street Stock Semi Truck

1. Street driven trucks only.
2. Must supply your own hitch
3. Must have current vehicle registrations, insurance card, and valid license.
4. NO added weight.
5. All Class D trucks are subject to the event official's judgement

 

2.6 Diesel 4x4 Truck

General Information
All trucks will be teched at each event.
Driver must wear a fire suit and a full face helmet

Vehicle must be equipped with guillotine/air shut off in front of the turbo.
The 2.6 Diesel class will be run last at each event.


Weight Breaks
2.6:8000 lbs. Weight is with driver. Minimum weight of 7500 lbs.
REGULATIONS
Ballast:
Ballast is permitted. Front hanging weights are
allowed, not to exceed 60 inches forward of center of the
front axle. This will be measured from center of front wheels to end of weight assembly. Ballast may be
added in the bed of the truck.
Body:
The body must be the OEM truck body, including the fu
ll bed floor. The body must retain full sheet metal,
after-market hoods are permitted. The hood much be closed and securely latched while the vehicle is hooked
to the sled.
Brakes:
Four-wheel hydraulic brakes are mandatory.
Chassis:
The OEM chassis is
mandatory. The engine must be in the OEM location for the body used. The vehicle
must retain the full OEM chassis. Wheel tubs, back-half conversions, tube chassis, etc., are prohibited.
Cooling System:
Radiators must be in the stock location and be of at least stock size.
Credentials:
All drivers must have a valid state driver’s license.
Driveline:
An OEM transmission and transfer case are mandatory. They must have been an option on a one-ton or
smaller pickup.
Driveshaft Loops:
All trucks must have
at least six inch wide U-joint shields around the rear u-joint constructed of at least ¼inch steel or 3/8 inch aluminum that will safely contain the u-joint and the end of the rear shaft. All shields
must be securely mounted to the vehicle. Any front shaft u-joint that is visible from the side of the truck must be shielded to contain the u-joint and the end of the shaft.
Driver Restraint System:
The OEM restraint system is mandatory and must be worn.
Engine:
The engine is limited to a stock-appearing engine and transmissions can be interchanged between Dodge,
Ford and GM as long as they came in a 1 ton truck or less from the factory. Complete engine must have stock
appearance except where otherwise noted in these rules. Aftermarket intake manifolds are allowed.
Exhaust:
All vehicles must be equipped to direct exhaust upward. Two 3/8 inch diameter bolts must be placed
through the exhaust pipe in a cross pattern within one inch of each other, within 12’’ of the turbo.
Fire Extinguisher System:
A fire
extinguisher system is permitted. It must be securely mounted.
Firewall:
The complete OEM firewall is mandatory.
Floor:
The complete OEM floor pan is mandatory.
Fuel:
The fuel must be pump #1/#2 diesel, Soy/Biodiesel fuel. No propane or NO2 permitted
or any other
oxygen enhancers.
Hand throttles are allowed.
Fuel Injection Pump:
The fuel injection pump is limited to a stock-appearing, OEM engine model-specific pump only. The use of
multiple high-pressure common-rail fuel pumps is legal. Powerstroke engines with a single factory turbo may
utilize a second HPOP. Pumps from different years in the same engine model may be interchanged. P7100
pumps are allowed to run RSV (ag governors).
Fuel System:
Racing fuel cells are permitted.
Hitch:
Hook point
must be no closer than 44” of centerline of rear axle, hitch height maximum of 26”, with a
minimum of a 3.75” X 3.0” opening. Hitch point must be easily accessed. No “trick” type hitches permitted.
Hitch must be stationary in all directions. Hitch must be
frame mounted. Hitch must be mounted centerline of
rear axle or behind. Hitch must not exceed a maximum of 25 degree angle from pivot point to hook point.
Rear End:
Non-OEM rear-end housings are prohibited. It must have been an option on a one-ton or sm
aller pickup.
Rear axle bolts must be covered by a cap or shield.
Steering:
Hydraulic steering permitted.
Suspension, Front:
The upper mounting point for strut assemblies must be in the factory location. Adjustable caster/camber
pillow ball mounts are permitted. The lower control arm may be strengthened provided factory-mounting
points to cassis are maintained. The lower moun
ting point for the strut assembly may be modified for
improved caster or camber. Strut tower braces, lower tie bars, sway bars, and limit straps are permitted.
Traction bars and devices are permitted.
Suspension, Rear:
An OEM-style suspension is mandato
ry. Lowering or raising the vehicle height with suspension
modifications is permitted. Traction bars and devices are permitted; they must be bolt-on only; welds are
permitted for attachment to frame or axle housing. All OEM suspension mounting points mu
st be retained
and used. Sway bars, limit straps, and camber kits are permitted. All rear suspensions must use at least one
working shock absorber per wheel. Airbag spring assistance is permitted; airbag compressors must be
disconnected. Blocked suspen
sion is permitted.
Tires:
The tires must be DOT street tires. Cut tires are prohibited. 102” max outside tire to outside tire.
Transfer Case:
Non-OEM transfer cases are prohibited. The transfer case must have been an option on a one-ton or
smaller pic
kup truck.
Transmission, Automatic:
Non-OEM transmissions prohibited. Aftermarket torque converters, valve bodies and internal components
are permitted. Transmission brakes are prohibited. Any non-OEM floor-mounted automatic transmission
shifter must
be equipped with a spring-loaded positive reverse lockout devise to prevent the shifter from
accidentally being put into reverse gear. A functional neutral safety switch is mandatory. All transmission
lines must be metallic or high-pressure-type hose. A
ll vehicles using an automatic transmission must be
equipped with a transmission shield meeting SFI Spec 4.1 and must be labeled accordingly. A blanket-type
shield is permitted; it must be appropriately labeled as meeting SFI Spec 4.1 and it must extend fr
om the rear
of the block to the front of transmission main body. The bell housing area is to be completely covered with a
six inch overlap where it is fastened. All non-blanket-type shields must incorporate two (or one, per
manufacturer’s instructions) ¾inch by 1/8 inch straps that bolt to the shield on each side and pass under the
transmission pan unless the transmission pan is labeled as meeting SFI Spec 4.1. All vehicles using an
automatic transmission must be equipped with a flex plate meeting SFI S
pec 29.1 and be covered by a flex
plate shield meeting SFI Spec 30.1.
Transmission, Manual:
Non-OEM transmissions are prohibited. Aftermarket internal components are permitted. A clutch
meeting minimum SFI Spec 1.1 or 1.2 is mandatory on all vehicles.

Turboch
arger:
The vehicle is limited to a 2.6 ind
ucer bore single turbocharger.
The compressor wheel must protrude into
a 2.6” bore for 1/8”. The inlet will be measured using a 2.605” inch plug; the plug must not be able to enter
the inducer bore. A stock map wid
th enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed
that has a width greater than .200”. All provisions allowing air into the wheel other than via bore and the
MWE groove are prohibited. The vehicle driver will be responsible for making c
ompressor wheel accessible for
tech personnel to measure bore and able to inspect compressor wheel.
Water Injection:
Water injection is prohibited. All system components must be removed from the truck.
Ice Water Intercoolers:
Ice water intercoolers are
allowed.
Wheelbase:
Maximum wheelbase-158”
